Distribution Of 40 Grocery Kits At Titakudi Village

Tittakudi is a Municipality and taluk headquarters in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with a population of approx 20,000 people. The recent rains coupled with the severe impact of the pandemic COVID-19 has pushed a certain section of the people in the village to a state of helplessness.

Chennai Food Bank arranged grocery kits for the needy village people and distributed them to 40 families. The grocery would be sufficient for their family for 15 days. A small gesture which will help the needy people with 2 meals a day.

Serving The Needy

With the incessant rains battering most parts of Tamil Nadu, the villages face maximum threat as rescue reaches them after major cities. Reaching the villages and identifying the real needy is also a challenge in such situations. Chennai Food Bank ensured the food grains and grocery kits reach the deserving people who do not have access to food because of loss of jobs or limited access to stores during the heavy rains.

We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.

– MOTHER TERESA

At Chennai Food Bank it is our endeavour to ensure we reach the real needy and help them with quality food grains. 2 meals a day is a basic necessity and we try our best to ensure we reach the maximum deserving people by providing them the food they deserve. Titakudi village is no different a story, where we ensured the grains reach the needy and they go to bed happy not worrying about hunger.
